Why dye your wedding shoes with Phini

Colour-matched to your dress. If you've had your dress redesigned or dyed with us, we can match your shoes to the exact same shade — or choose a considered contrast.

Worked on by hand. Every pair is assessed and dyed individually by our vetted designers, not run through a bulk process. We look at the material, the construction, and the finish before we touch a single stitch.

A second life for shoes you already love. Many of our brides bring us shoes with sentimental value — a hand-me-down pair, or ones they simply don't want to retire after the big day. We help you wear them again, differently.

In-studio or fully remote. Visit us in Canonbury, North London, or post your shoes to us — the same meticulous process either way, for clients across London and the rest of the UK.

What we can dye

We work with a range of bridal shoe materials, including satin, silk, and select leather and suede finishes. Not every material or embellishment can be dyed successfully — during your consultation, we'll assess your shoes and talk through what result is realistically achievable before any work begins.

How it works

  1. Get in touch. Tell us about your shoes and the colour or finish you're after — including a photo of your dress or fabric swatch if you're colour-matching.

  2. Consultation. We assess the material and condition of your shoes and confirm what's achievable, along with timing.

  3. Dyeing. Our designers hand-dye your shoes to the agreed shade, checking the result against your reference at each stage.

  4. Finishing & return. Once we're happy with the finish, your shoes are carefully packaged and returned to you — or ready for collection from our Canonbury studio.

FAQs

Can you dye satin wedding shoes? Yes — satin is one of the most common materials we dye, and takes colour especially well, making it a popular choice for exact dress colour-matches.

Can you match my shoes to my wedding dress? In most cases, yes. Send us a swatch or photo of your dress and we'll match the shade as closely as the shoe material allows.

Can you dye shoes I've already worn? Often, yes — we regularly work with pre-loved shoes. During your consultation we'll assess the condition and confirm the best achievable result.

What materials can't be dyed? Some synthetic materials and certain embellishments don't take dye well or at all. We'll always tell you honestly during your consultation if a shoe isn't a good candidate.

Do I need to be in London to use this service? No — while our studio is in Canonbury, North London, we work with brides across the whole of London and the rest of the UK by post.
