Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
-
We reimagine the clothes you already own. Through dyeing, embroidery, repairs and full redesign, our artisans transform a treasured piece into something new and completely tailored to you.
-
Not at all. Most people arrive with a piece they love and little more than a feeling, and that's exactly enough. The vision is ours to find together.
-
Book an appointment - in person at our London studio or virtually, wherever you are. If you'd rather ask a question first, message us anytime on WhatsApp.
-
An in-person appointment takes place at our London studio, where we can see and handle your piece directly. A virtual appointment is a video consultation from wherever you are. Both begin the same journey; the right one simply depends on your project.
-
For bridal and full reconstructions, we'd always recommend the studio, so we can assess your piece in person. For dyeing, embroidery and simpler alterations, either works beautifully. If you're unsure, message us and we'll happily advise.
If you’re based outside of London, we do have artisans based all over the UK, so please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate an in-person consultation closer to you.
-
An in-person appointment is £25 on weekdays, £35 for weekends, and a virtual appointment is free of charge. The fee is redeemable against your project.
-
The fee is redeemable against your project and non-refundable. Should you need to rearrange, you're welcome to reschedule up to 48 hours before; within 48 hours, simply message us and we'll do our best to find another time.
-
Our London studio is likely to open in September 2026. The exact location will be confirmed very soon.
-
Studio appointments open this September. Join the waitlist to be first through the door - and if you can't wait, message us on WhatsApp and we'll do everything we can to welcome you sooner.
-
Our opening hours will be confirmed once our studio location is confirmed. We see clients by appointment only, so every visit has our full attention. You can sign up to our studio waitlist here.
-
Each appointment lasts approximately 45 minutes. Your appointment is unhurried and focused entirely around you.
-
It depends on your project. Some are perfectly resolved in a single appointment, while others - particularly fittings - call for a few more along the way. Any further appointments your piece needs will be outlined clearly in your bespoke proposal, so you'll always know exactly what to expect.
-
Of course. You're welcome to bring up to two guests. If you'd like to bring more, just let us know and we'll do our best to make room.
-
The piece you have in mind, and anything that's inspiring you - this could be a colour, a cutting, a feeling. If ideas come to you beforehand, do send any thoughts or photos over WhatsApp or email; we love talking them through, and it helps us prepare for your appointment to make it as special as possible.
-
Yes, we're happy to discuss several pieces in one appointment. If you have a few in mind, mention it when you book so we can set aside the right amount of time for you.
-
Absolutely. Please reach out to us via email or Whatsapp and we’d be happy to help.
What we offer
-
Dyeing, embroidery, repairs and alterations, and full redesign or reconstruction - all by hand, all bespoke.
-
Anything from everyday favourites to occasion wear and bridal. If you treasure it, we'd love to see it.
-
Quite simply, it's time made entirely for you and your piece. You'll sit down with one of our artisans to explore it together - the possibilities, the techniques, the finer details - until the vision for its redesign begins to take shape. There's no need to arrive with a finished idea; that's the part we find together. It's unhurried, considered, and a beautiful experience. In person, that's at our London studio; virtually, it's a video consultation from wherever you are.
-
More than you might imagine. From dyeing, embroidery and repairs to full redesigns - and even reimagining a piece into something entirely new, like a bag or a keepsake. There are very few limits to what our artisans can do. The best way to discover what's possible for your piece is simply to bring it to us; we'll talk you through every option, and shape the right vision together.
-
Yes - bridal is a specialism of ours, whether you're reimagining your own dress, a family heirloom, or a piece for the day itself. For bridal, we'll always recommend an in-person appointment.
-
Yes, our artisans have worked with some of the finest and most delicate materials in the industry. Every piece is assessed individually, and we'll always tell you honestly what's possible for yours.
-
Yes. While clothing is at the heart of what we do, our artisans can work their magic on many accessories too. We've reimagined Prada bags, and even crafted luxury bags from wedding dresses, so a treasured piece lives on in a whole new form. Bring the piece you have in mind and we'll let you know exactly what's possible.
-
Not in the least. What matters is that the piece means something to you - that's what makes it worth reimagining.
-
If a piece isn't well suited to what you have in mind, we'll always be honest about it and we'll do our best to suggest a beautiful alternative so you're never left without a way forward.
Dyeing
-
Dyeing is one of the loveliest ways to give a piece new life. Our artisans assess your piece, agree the shade with you, and dye it by hand with techniques perfected over many years.
-
In expert hands, yes. Because every fabric behaves a little differently, the way a piece takes colour can vary - particularly with mixed or synthetic materials. That's precisely why we assess each piece carefully before we begin, test on sample fabric where needed, and only proceed once we're confident of a beautiful result. We'll always talk you through what to expect for your piece, so there are no surprises.
-
Not every fabric - and that's a good thing, because it means we only ever recommend dyeing when we know it will work well. Natural fibres tend to take colour most beautifully. During your consultation we'll assess your piece and let you know honestly whether dyeing is the right path. Even if traditional dyeing isn’t possible, there is always the options of screen printing and hand painting.
-
Dyeing generally deepens or changes a colour rather than lightening it. We'll always guide you to a result we're confident we can achieve, and talk you through the options for your piece.
-
Hand-dyeing has a character all its own, and part of its beauty is that each result is unique. We guide you to a shade we're confident of, test where helpful, and keep you informed throughout, so the result is one you'll love.
-
We do, and it's something rather special. Natural dyes take a little longer and each result is wonderfully unique - no two are ever quite the same - which is part of their charm. They're also far gentler on the world around us. There's even room for something deeply personal: your wedding bouquet, for instance, could be used to dye your dress, so the day is woven into the piece forever.
-
A great deal of care and expertise. We assess the fabric, test where appropriate, and rely on the experience of artisans who have spent their careers doing exactly this. Your piece is in the safest hands at every stage. Occasionally a fabric carries a hidden stain or traces of dry-cleaning chemicals that can affect the result; we'll always talk you through anything we spot.
-
Dyeing is an art, and our artisans take the greatest care at every stage. Just occasionally, a fabric holds something none of us can see - an old stain, a past spillage, or chemicals left behind from dry cleaning - and these can affect how a piece takes colour, in ways that are beyond anyone's control. Because of this, we ask every client to sign a short agreement beforehand, simply confirming they understand. And should anything unexpected appear, we'd never leave you with it: we'll always work with you to find a solution and shape a final design you truly love.
-
Wonderfully little, in fact - the less interference, the better. We'd simply ask that you don't dry clean or spot clean it beforehand, as the chemicals involved can interfere with how the fabric takes colour. Bring it to us just as it is, and we'll take the very best care of it from there.
For brides, please don’t worry about any mud or stains on the hem from your wedding day - that’s just evidence of a beautiful day! We can remove the hem and then use that for sample testing.
-
No, please don't. It's tempting to want a piece looking its best beforehand, but the chemicals used in dry cleaning can affect the dyeing process. Your piece is in the safest hands with us, exactly as it comes.
Bridal is close to our hearts, and we treat every bridal piece with the care its moment deserves. There are two journeys we're often asked about, and they're quite different - so we've separated them here.
Bridal
Reimagining a piece for your wedding day
-
Yes. Whether you've found a dress that's almost right, inherited a family gown, or have a piece you'd love to make your own, our artisans can reimagine it into something that feels unmistakably you for the day itself.
-
This is some of our most treasured work. We handle heirloom and vintage pieces with the utmost care, reimagining them for your day while honouring everything that makes them special.
-
Yes. Bridal work depends on exact fit and the finest detail, so we'll always see you in person - both to plan your piece and for your fittings.
-
We'll see you as many times as your piece needs, so it's perfect by the day. The exact amount of fittings depends on each design, and an estimate will be provided after your first appointment.
-
As early as you can. Bridal pieces are crafted with great care and take time, so we recommend getting in touch well ahead of your date. We advise getting in touch at least six months before your wedding. However, you can always reach out to us anytime if you have a sooner deadline and we will do our best to accommodate.
-
Get in touch as soon as you're able and we'll do everything we can to make it work.
Reimagining your dress after the wedding
-
We'd love to. A wedding dress holds so much, and yet it's so often worn just once. We can reimagine yours into a piece you'll reach for again and again, so the memory lives on, beautifully.
-
There’s so much we can offer from shortening, restyling, dyeing it a colour you'll love, reworking it into separates, or adding embroidery and personalisation. We'll explore the possibilities with you and shape the right vision for your dress.
-
That's the very heart of it. Our work is about cherishing the memory, never losing it - reimagining your dress so it carries the feeling of the day into the rest of your life.
-
None at all. Whether it's been a month or many years, your dress is welcome whenever you're ready.
-
We'd be honoured to. A wedding dress holds so much, and reimagining even a part of it is one of the loveliest ways to keep the day close. We've created everything from christening gowns and childrenswear to bags, suits and jackets, so a treasured piece carries the memory on, in a beautiful new form.
-
We design a bespoke plan around you including the techniques, the timeline and the final vision. This will be sent to you within a few days along with your quote.
-
Our typical turnaround is three days, depending on our availability. If you have a deadline we can provide a streamlined service for an additional fee.
-
Yes - a short, simple agreement ahead of your first appointment. It's there so everyone's clear from the outset. It's a formality that gives complete peace of mind, and means we can get straight to the lovely part: reimagining your piece.
-
Every project is bespoke, so costs vary with the piece and the work involved. We'll give you a clear quote with your plan, so you'll know exactly where you stand before anything begins.
-
Our projects begin at £500.
-
It depends on the piece and the work involved. We'll give you a clear timeline as part of your plan. Dyeing and simple redesigns could take a matter of weeks, more complex designs could take a few months.
-
We'll always do our best to accommodate you. Significant changes after work has begun may affect the quote or timeline, but we'll talk it all through with you so there are never any surprises.
-
Always. We'll keep you informed every step of the way, by whichever method of contact you prefer. Think of us as your personal redesign concierge - your piece is in caring hands, and you'll never be left wondering where things stand.
-
Wherever we can, yes. We'll always do our utmost to accommodate your timeline - for projects that need to move more quickly, this is sometimes possible for an additional fee.
