Phini Care Guide
Caring for Your Piece
Every piece we redesign is made with care, and we want it to stay that way for years to come for you to enjoy.
From the moment it leaves our studio, it's yours to look after - and we're here to help if you're ever unsure how.
A little goes a long way - most damage comes from over-cleaning rather than under-cleaning, so when in doubt, do less.
Once it's yours, it's yours to care for
We pour the same craft and attention into every redesign, right up until the moment it's collected or delivered. After that, its care is in your hands. We're not able to take responsibility for any damage, fading, or wear that happens once a piece has left us - but please don't hesitate to reach out if you need advice. We're always here to help.
Dyed pieces
Dyed pieces are a little more delicate, so they deserve a little extra care.
Keep dyed garments out of direct sunlight where you can. Sunlight causes fading over time, and sadly it's not something that can be undone.
Hand washing in lukewarm water with a final rinse in cold water, is the gentlest and safest way to look after colour and finish. We recommend using no harsh chemicals or fabric softener. It is important to note a small amount of colour may run, so it is best to wash it on its own.
We'd recommend avoiding professional dry cleaning for dyed pieces. If you do choose to use one, please know it's at your own risk - dry cleaning can affect colour and finish. If you go this route, we'd suggest choosing someone you trust and letting them know to treat the piece gently.
A gentle steam or letting the garment hang to dry is the best way to remove creasing. We do not recommend ironing as the dye can be sensitive to direct heat.
Redesigned pieces
Whilst every piece is unique in it’s own way, we find following these simple guidelines will help ensure it remains as preserved as possible.
Hand washing your piece in lukewarm water with gentle soap, is the best way to clean delicate fabrics. If there is embroidery or embellishment added, using a small sponge to apply water gently is recommended.
We recommend avoiding tumble drying where possible. Letting your piece air dry somewhere cool and away from sunlight keeps it at its best.

If you’d like to take your piece to a dry cleaner, we advise using one that you trust, and have used before. Redesigned pieces are made using extra care, and explaining the delicacy of the piece to the dry cleaning service will help them know how to care for it better.
